Examples of Rotating Dolly Configurations

#9 Spread Out Dollies Equally to Divide Weight Equally

Employed Dollies: (All Positions) Rotating dollies

Consideration: Space out rotating dollies at equal distance so each dolly carries the same weight. This utilizes the max capacity of each dolly.

#10 On Longer Loads Simulate 3-Point Support to Keep Load From Rocking

Employed Dollies: (All Positions) Rotating dollies

Consideration: The load could rock with dollies in each of the 4 corners. Therefore, place the front two dollies as close together as possible to simulate a 3-point support system for the safest transport.

#11 4-Point Support System for Loads on Legs or C-Channels

For Special Application Only!

Employed Dollies: (All Positions) Rotating dollies

Consideration: Use only if 3-point support is not possible, for loads with legs or C-channel.

Load can rock when travelling over uneven surface resulting in: (1) A shift of weight, (2) loss of contact with one dolly, (3) possibly overloading other dolly, and (4) slipping of dolly out from underneath.

#12 Rotating Dollies with Steerable Machine Dollies for Short Radius Turns

Mix and Match!

Employed Dollies: (Positions A & C) Steerable machine dolly
(Positions G & I) Rotating dollies
