JUNG rotating dollies are outfitted with black JUWAmid wheels. This wheel material is superior in its performance characteristics - i.e. it turns and rolls more easily - over any traditional nylon, composite or polyurethane wheels for the intended use. Why? Rotating dollies are designed to change direction on a dime or circle in place which requires the wheels to also spin and turn in place. Furthermore, when the rotating dollies are first positioned, the wheels may point in various directions. To get the load rolling, these wheels have to all spin and align into the direction of movement. This initial resistance is called "break-out resistance" and it is significantly higher than on standard dollies that already have all wheels already pointing in the same direction. Under heavy weights, traditional wheel materials exhibit a so called "rubber effect" during maneuvers. The friction between the wheel and the floor is so great that turning and "starting-to-roll" operation becomes very difficult and it significantly reduces the ease of movement. JUWAmid was developed to reduce this resistance. The material is based on a polyamide compound and further chemical engineering of the composition resulted in a wheel that is very slick (like touching ice). This characteristic reduces the rolling resistance and the break-out resistance to make it roll and turn easily. This makes the overall manhandling effort required to move multi-ton loads very easy and it sets the performance from other products apart. The material formulation also took into consideration the need to keep the wheel from marring, marking and damaging floors and the material is resistant against embedding of debris. JUWAmid is exclusively available on JUNG rotating dollies. Ball Bearings JUNG wheels are outfitted with sealed ball bearings to prevent any contamination from sand or dust that would result in a failure of the bearings. Furthermore, standard ball bearings are not very uniform causing unequal load distribution and high failure rates. JUNG only employs precision ball bearings with low tolerances to assure constant even load distribution. Design To further improve the ease of turning, the previously used wide wheels have been replaced by more narrow, side-by-side wheels that now have the ability to turn in opposite direction during tight turns. Side-by-Side Wheels to Reduce Friction JUNG moved to a more narrow wheel size to allow wheels to rotate in opposite directions during turning. this greatly reduces the turning resistance compared to using wider wheels. White JUWAmid Wheels Available The standard black JUWAmid wheels are also available in white. White wheels turn dark from picking up dust so the white wheels usually do not stay white. We consequently recommend the standard black wheels. SPECIAL ORDER Please note that white JUWAmid wheels are special order and additional lead times apply. Upgrade to Yellow JUWAthan+ Wheels Black JUWAmid wheels are recommended and come standard on all rotating dollies. However, customers that need extremely high floor protection can order the rotating dollies with yellow JUWAthan+ wheels (standard on all our other types of dollies). Coverage
The manufacturer warrants that the products are free from material or workmanship defects, provided they are subject to normal and intended use. The manufacturer may replace the product or may provide replacement parts, in accordance with the provisions of this warranty policy, any of its products during the duration of the warranty, if it is determined that the product has a material or manufacturer defect.
Limitations
The warranty does NOT cover damage resulting from improper use of the equipment, such as overloading, accidents, abuse, or misuse, modification, negligence after purchase, ordinary wear and tear, and/or failure to follow the product’s operating instructions or safety regulations.
Initiating a Claim
In the event of a defect in North America or South America, notify Toolwell of the circumstances in order to obtain warranty instructions. Depending on the nature of the defect, Toolwell will offer at its discretion one of two options:
- Replace the defective product. All defective dollies, skates, and jacks must be returned to Toolwell.
- Replace the defective part. The defective part may be discarded.
Warranty Period
This warranty lasts for five (5) years on all JUNG products from the date of original purchase with the following exception: The warranty lasts for one (1) year on all electrical and any pneumatic powered products.

Our advertised load capacity is rated well below the breaking point so the dollies and skates are built to safely operate at full capacity.
Capacity can mean different things so please find below an explanation for your understanding:
- Breaking point: At which point will the skates break?
- How close to the breaking point is the capacity advertised?

Safe Working Load Capacity: Our advertised load capacity refers to the maximum amount of weight our dollies and skates are designed to safely carry while maintaining easy rolling and turning. The breaking point and the failure-to-operate point are well above this capacity allowing the dollies and skates to be operated at the maximum rated load weight. NEVER EXCEED this Safe Working Load Capacity.
Safety Capacity: The dollies and skates possess a safety capacity above the advertised load capacity to protect against limited temporary overloading due to impact loading or unexpected shift in weight. Operating the dollies and skates above the rated capacity and within the safety capacity means more effort is needed to roll and the user will notice an increase in rolling resistance. If the safety capacity is maxed out, the wheels will stop rolling and start dragging behind and turning becomes impossible.
Dynamic Load Capacity: The load limit above which the dollies and skates will permanently deform and fail (breaking point) in motion is rated above the Safety Capacity.
Static Load Capacity: The load limit above which the dollies and skates will permanently deform and fail (breaking point) at standstill is rated above the Dynamic Load Capacity.

Conformance to Safety Principles Our products are put to the test to meet the most recent U.S. safety standard ASME B30.1. This standard specifies the load bearing valuation and safety capacity demanded by OSHA requirements. JUNG skates are really the only load moving skates in the United States that comply with these specifications. All jacks are tested to comply with ANSI B30.1. All skates can just be tested to capacities of 16 tons. Larger sized dollies and skates cannot be tested, but are made to comply with the same or higher safety standards. Because of its manufacturing process we can guarantee that each product is identical (and does not vary because it was cut, drilled, and welded by hand). Our products may well be issued with certificates of compliance or certificates of conformity (COC). Traceability by Serial Numbers Every product is marked with a serial number. This identifier is associated with the item's material, components, and manufacturing batches. Every part failure can be tracked back to the production batch to determine the underlying cause. Our Definition of Load Capacity |

Our definition of Load Capacity goes further than just working safely below the break point: The more weight is exerted onto the skates's footprint, the higher the break-out & rolling resistance becomes until too much weight causes the wheels to drag behind, making changing directions impossible. The maximum capacity at which a wheel still turns is limited by the pressure exerted onto the footprint (aside from the component strength). That means a 2 ton rated wheel may stop turning at 1 ton of weight. Be assured that you maintain “easy rolling” and “easy steering” at maximum capacity with our dollies and skates. |

The table below is provided as a general guideline, for professionals only, as the strength per person varies and environmental and operational factors can greatly affect the rolling resistance. It should not be assumed that rolling and turning a multi-ton load is as easy as moving a piece of furniture. Moving heavy loads requires hard work and a lot of force and effort.

The manpower requirements to push & pull a load varies greatly and are influenced by several factors:
- Floor conditions: It is easier to move a load on smooth and level concrete surfaces than on rough and uneven ground.
- Weight per footprint: It is less difficult to move a load on a larger dolly/skate than on a small dolly/skate; as more wheels are available to support the weight, there is less weight for each individual wheel to carry. Since each wheel has less pressure placed on it, the load becomes easier to move.
- Size of Wheels: Larger wheels roll easier than smaller-diameter wheels.
- Time at Standstill: Rollers naturaly sag over time when at standstill. This increases the breakout resistance. So the time at rest will impact the force required to start rolling.
- Temperature: High temperatures will cause the roller material to become softer which will increase the rolling resistance.

Understanding Break-Out Resistance and Rolling Resistance
It is harder to get the load to start moving than to keep it moving. The force required to start the load moving from a standstill to a rolling state is called the Break Out Resistance.
This Break Out Resistance is approximately 5-10% of the Load Weight (worst case), depending on the factors mentioned above. This is also the drawbar pulling force required.
Once the load is rolling, it becomes easier to move. The Rolling Resistance is approximately 1/2 of the Break Out Resistance and requires only half of the force to keep the load moving.
Steering
A standard 3-point load moving system is the easiest to steer. The wheels are aligned in the direction of movement and the pulling handle acts like a lever to directly turn the steerable-front skate. Rotating dollies are slightly more difficult to steer as wheels can initially be pointing in different directions and must align to turn synchronously and simultaneously. Tandem machine skates and container dollies are more difficult to steer by hand because the turning force is transferred from the pulling handle into two parallel connecting bars which then turn the skates. In all cases turning while in motion is much easier than turning from a stand-still. And with all dollies and skates turning with a forklift is easy.
Safety First!
Please do not underestimate the Braking Force required to stop the load from moving. If you have ever pushed a stalled car, you know how difficult it is to stop a rolling vehicle. For loads over 5 tons we highly recommend using a forklift to be able to stop the load when necessary. If you operate any heavy load on a decline, ALWAYS use a forklift to avoid run-away loads.
